If ever there were a week to plug in your headphones and take a proper listen to Travel Tuesday, this is it.

Linda Perillo and I pulled together one of the most compelling hours in our show’s history—filled with travel warnings, life-saving tips, destination gems, and a good old-fashioned listener spotlight to remind us why we wander in the first place. Whether you’re planning your next trip, hunting for a better airport experience, or looking to share your own travel saga, this episode delivers.

Let’s start with the turbulence—not in the skies, but in the control towers. Segment one dives into an alarming report straight out of Newark Airport, where a whistleblower exposed stunning failures in air traffic control systems. Outdated tech, critical safety lapses, and a warning that should have every frequent flyer paying attention.

We pair that hard news with practical help in segment one as well, courtesy of the Fuel for the Journey travel feature. We dig into smart strategies for booking, navigating travel disruptions, and whether those first-class upgrades are ever really worth it.

In segment two, we clear the fog on something many travelers are still confused about: REAL ID. May 7, 2025, marks the enforcement deadline. If you’re not holding the right license, your next trip could end at the TSA checkpoint. But it’s not as complicated—or as scary—as it seems. We lay it all out in plain language so you don’t get grounded.

Segment three may be my favorite. We take a detour to Indian Rocks Beach, Florida—thanks to a listener who sent in her story, “Chasing Summer and Manatees.” In an era where everyone’s headed to the same overly hashtagged beach, this laid-back Florida spot offers an alternative with charm, affordability, and fewer crowds. We break down why these “just-right” destinations deserve more love—and how to find them before they go viral.

In segment four, we go global. The U.S. dollar is flexing its muscles in countries like Mexico, Canada, Brazil, and the Bahamas—making it one of the best times in years to book a trip abroad. But we don’t stop there. We also issue a heads-up on something most travel sites are too nervous to cover: mass anti-tourism protests planned for June 15th in places like Spain’s Balearic Islands and Barcelona. It’s the kind of travel intelligence that could spare you a major headache—or even a cancelled trip.

And finally—our heartbeat: you. Segment five invites listeners to send us their wildest, funniest, or most moving travel stories. Five words or less. We’ll feature our favorites weekly, and this time, it was a story that reminded us of warm sand, manatees, and family time that doesn’t require a five-star resort to feel priceless.

We also welcome new members to join the That Passport Life community. At ThatPassportLife.com, we’re building something more than a blog or a broadcast—we’re building a hub for dreamers, doers, and digital nomads who believe the world is meant to be explored, one story at a time.

So if you missed this week’s show, don’t worry—it’s waiting for you wherever you get your podcasts. Just search Travel Tuesday with Kevin & Linda and prepare for a ride full of insight, inspiration, and a few laughs along the way.

Because every great trip starts with a great story.

And yours might be next.
