In December of 2016, former Vice President Al Gore met with President-elect Donald Trump and the two discussed climate change. After the meeting, according to a pool report referenced by CNN.com, Gore said he "had a lengthy and very productive session with the President-elect." He added, "I found it an extremely interesting conversation."

Now, only a few months later, the trailer for the Inconvenient Truth sequel, which stars Gore, has arrived and it seemingly casts the new president as a villain. According to the Washington Post, "The trailer for 'An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power,' the second film in Al Gore’s franchise of climate change documentaries, depicts President Trump as an antagonist."

The trailer features several clips of Donald Trump on the campaign trail mocking and disparaging the issue of climate change.

The original film arrived in theaters in 2006 and earned critical acclaim. It went on to become a box office success and earned two Academy Awards. Although some of the film's predictions did come true, others did not. NPR.org, referencing a lengthy Science News analysis on the subject, noted in 2016 that some of the feature's biggest predictions never came to fruition.

The sequel arrives in theaters on July 28th.
