De La Salle at Groves Named Game of the Week

            It’s the opening round of the MHSAA playoffs and our Catholic League Football Game of the Week coverage continues as the De La Salle Pilots take on the Birmingham Groves Falcons on the road.

De La Salle (5-4) had their three-game winning streak snapped last Friday against West Bloomfield as the Lakers held on for a 16-8 victory. Groves (7-2) checks into the state playoffs with their only blemishes coming against Oak Park in Week 4 and Woodhaven in Week 9.

The winner of this match-up will move on to the district final to take on the winner of Sterling Heights and Birmingham Seaholm. The contest is a rematch from last year’s Division 2 State Semi-Final which saw the Pilots win 28-0.
